My story
Various roles have led me to this point and helped me to realize my passion for editing. After a PhD in detecting water pollution, I discovered that I loved writing my thesis more than doing the research! Several career paths opened up, including administrating in a GP surgery, environmental consultancy, followed by a 2-year stint working in the USA as an ecologist and educator, then data management in a surgical oncology department in Dublin, Ireland. Back in the UK I resumed my previous role as an Environmental Consultant and Project/Bid Manager, which I have done for the past 24 years.
In 2016, I set out to realize my passion for editing and proofreading and set up my freelance business. I learned a lot in that time and following additional training was accepted to be a CIEP Professional Member and built up a core set of clients. I bring together a unique combination of skills to provide exceptionally well managed and diligent editing through an understanding of complex scientific concepts and medical terminology.
My freelance work has gone from strength to strength with additional clients, providing excellent feedback.
